Examples of such commitment might include adopting innovative comparative and interdisciplinary methodologies, developing new curricular initiatives, establishing partnerships with local and international communities that allow students to put their language skills and cultural competencies to work, or enhancing research with new modalities of scholarly output (e.g., digital, creative, or public-facing projects). We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching reflects a commitment to an expansive and inclusive model of German Studies and affirms the ongoing relevance of our field to the project of humanistic inquiry. Successful candidates will have a strong grounding in German literary and cultural studies as well as an active research agenda in one or more of the following areas: 1) translation studies, 2) media studies 3) digital humanities, 4) nationalism, ethnicity, and race.
